Job: Lecturer in Financial Mathematics (KCL)

Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Financial Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics at King's College London, to be taken up by 1 September 2017, or as soon as possible thereafter. Candidates are expected to have research expertise in some area of financial mathematics, and should have the potential to carry out research which has high levels of originality, innovation and depth that may well lead to significant impact on their field over the long term. 

The successful candidate will be expected to: 
• Contribute to the research activity of the Department, maintaining a track record of research of international excellence; 
• Take part in teaching and examining for the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, and to supervise research students in the Department; 
• Make a contribution to the academic organisation of the Department. 

Detailed duties will be allocated by the Head of Department. The post is based at the Strand campus of King’s College London. 

The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview.

Welcome reception at Imperial College

Imperial College hosts the 2016-17 opening ceremony and welcome reception, which will take place on 13 October 2016, starting at 3pm. All are welcome to attend and there is no need to register.

  • 3.00pm to 4.30pm: Opening speech and introduction to the 2016-17 course programme.
  • 4.30pm to 6pm: Coffee and Networking.
  • 6pm to 7pm: Seminar talk by Loriana Pellizzon (Goethe Univ.).

The 3.00pm speech will take place in the council room at 170 Queen’s gate (please note: 170, not the usual 180). The main access point is at 170 Queen's Gate, just north of the Queen’s gate entrance of the Natural Science Museum and south of 180 Queen’s Gate/ Huxley Building (Dept. of Mathematics).

The nearest underground stations are South Kensington and Gloucester Road. From South Kensington station either follow the subway sign-posted to the museums or walk north up Exhibition Road. From Gloucester Road station walk north up Gloucester Road and turn right at Queen's Gate Terrace.
